The Phoenix Heart Ball funds programs for prevention and education provided by the American Heart Association.
About the American Heart Association
The American Heart Association is dedicated to saving lives from heart disease and stroke. We team with more than 15,000 volunteers in Phoenix to fung innovative research, fight for strong public health policies and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat these diseases.
Our mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. In everything we do, we strive to have an extraordinary impact on your life by fighting these diseases. We have set a goal for the year 2020 to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans, while also reducing the deaths due to cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent.
We currently have 11 active research projects at institutions in Arizona, totaling more than $1.8 million. Our statewide network of grassroots volunteers advocates for policy changes, like smoke-free workplaces, stroke systems of care and other policies that help Arizonans build healthier lives. Locally, we educate Valley residents about heart health through programs like Life's Simple 7, community health initiatives like Check For Life and Stroke Check and through the newly-renovated Halle Heart Children's Museum in Tempe.
